Below is the June 2013 The County Seat newspaper article which states that Ernie Keahey served in the Marine Corp and rose to the rank of Corporal.  It does not mention the period in which he served or if he had attended Hackensack Schools.  The article does mention he had served as the Elks Clubs Past Exalted Ruler, so he was a citizen of Hackensack and a veteran for whom we are grateful.

The other veterans mentioned are: Frank Gallitano, Louis “Lee” D’Arminio,
his brother Michael D’Arminio, Mike Melfi, and Jacqueline Richardson.
